Return Policy
Individual Customers

If you purchased directly from F. A. Davis and your purchase does not meet expectations, you may return the product in salable condition with a copy of your invoice within 30 days of invoice date. You will receive credit issued to the credit card used to make your purchase. Please send your return to this mailing address:

Please Note : If your textbook contains an access code, the silver strip that covers the access code must not be scratched off. Otherwise the textbook will be deemed non-saleable and cannot be credited. Please return your item using a traceable ship method and provide us with tracking to ensure credit is issued to your account in the event your package is lost in transit.

 

Bookstores and Institutions  

F. A. Davis requires authorization for bookstore and institutional returns. All authorized and approved returns will be issued an FA Davis credit. The credit note may be applied to invoices or future purchases for a period of 2 years provided the following guidelines are followed:


  • The products were purchased directly from F.A. Davis.
  • The invoice date is no older than one (1) year from date of return request or the product was recalled within ninety (90) days of return request.
  • Returned products, including old editions, are in salable condition.
  • Proper documentation is included. (see documentation requirements below)


Documentation Requirements

  • A copy of the original invoice OR a packing slip that properly references the original invoice number and date, the product ISBN(s), author name(s), and title(s).
  • Reason for return.


Multiple carton shipments must be clearly marked. We will hold any partial shipments received for three (3) business days. If after three (3) days, the balance of the shipment has not been received, you will be notified, and credit will be issued for only the cartons and products that were received. Credits may be applied to invoices or future purchases for a period of 2 years. Claims for credit must be made within six months of the return date. Recalls
With each new edition of a publication, F.A. Davis will announce the recall of the old edition. We will issue credit for recalled titles if the books are in salable condition, have been purchased directly from F.A. Davis and are received within ninety (90) days of the new edition’s publication date. Returns of old editions outside of these terms will be denied credit and may be destroyed at our discretion.


Defective and Damaged Products

FA Davis will issue return labels, retrieve and replace defective products provided they were purchased directly from F.A. Davis up to one year from date of purchase. Defective products purchased through a distributor must be returned to that distributor.

If your institutional or bookstore shipment was damaged in transit, improperly packaged or received in non-salable condition, please contact our Customer Support team via cs@fadavis.com within seven (7) business days of receipt. CS will issue return labels, retrieve and replace damaged products.
