Return Policy
Bookstore/Institutional Customers


F. A. Davis wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you find your purchase unsatisfactory, we will gladly issue full credit pending authorization. All authorized and approved returns will be issued a credit note. The credit note may be applied to invoices or future purchases for a period of 2 years.

Full credit will be issued provided the following:

  • The products were purchased directly from F.A. Davis within one (1) year or recalled within ninety (90) days. If we receive a return that does not meet these requirements, we will notify you immediately and offer to return the products to you at your expense or dispose of the products in accordance with your instructions. (See Out of Print Recalls below.)
  • Returned products, including old editions, are in salable condition.
  • Proper documentation is included. Returns without documentation or with incomplete documentation will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Documentation should include (1) A copy of the original invoice OR a packing slip that properly references the invoice by including the original invoice number and date, ISBN, author name, and title and (2) The reason for return.
  • Multiple carton shipments must be clearly marked. We will hold any partial shipments received for three (3) business days. If after three (3) days, the balance of the shipment has not arrived, we will notify you of the missing cartons and provide credit only for the products that were received.

Any claim for a return/credit must be made within six months after the return date.

Individual Customers  

If you purchased a print title directly from F. A. Davis Company and find that it does not meet your expectations, return it in salable condition with a copy of your invoice within thirty (30) days of the invoice date and you will be promptly credited to the credit card used at the time of purchase. Please also note: if the print title you purchased included an access code, and you have already scratched off the silver strip and/or registered the access code, the book cannot be returned. Digital products are non-refundable if activated.

Returns for a package or bundle of print titles must include all components or credit will not be issued.
 
Please return the item(s) using a traceable method (UPS, FedEx, USPS/return receipt) so credit can be issued in the event that your package is lost in transit. Send your returns to our Distribution Center address:

Recall

Periodically, F.A. Davis will announce the recall of an old edition via email. We will issue credit for recalled titles if the books are received in salable condition, have been purchased directly from F.A. Davis, are received within ninety (90) days of the publication date of the new edition and not more than one (1) year from invoice date. Any products not meeting these criteria will not receive credit and may be destroyed at our discretion.

Defective Products

We will replace any defective products that, aside from the noted defect, are in salable condition, if they were purchased directly from F.A. Davis within one (1) year or recalled within ninety (90) days and for which pertinent information regarding the original purchase has been provided.

Defective products purchased through a distributor must be returned to that distributor.

Products Damaged During Shipment

If your purchase was received damaged during transit, please follow the guidelines listed below:

  • Immediately notify the carrier who can inspect the shipment prior to signing for delivery, report the damages and return the products to F.A. Davis.
  • Notify F.A. Davis of damages or shortages within (7) business days to request credit or replacements.
  • Carefully pack the products to prevent additional damages in transit. (You will be notified upon receipt of shipment whether credit or replacements will be issued.)
