We recently discovered that Microsoft® Windows XP Service Pack 2 release with security pop-up blocking for Internet Explorer can prevent Interactive Medical Terminology (IMT) 2.0 and 2.02 from functioning properly.
To overcome this challenge, we designed a patch that you and your students can download.
The patch allows pop-up window material related to the IMT software to appear. The patch also contains a Java checker for your convenience to verify the correct Java Virtual Machine is installed for IMT to run properly.
To launch the patch:
- A dialog box will open that asks whether you want to open the file or save to your hard drive.
- Choose Run this program from its current location.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
You may also choose to save the file to your hard drive. If you do, click My Computer and then navigate to the file IMT2_XP_SP2_Patch.exe. Double-click the icon, and follow the prompts to install the patch.
Please make all students aware of the patch and ask that they download it, to ensure a seamless educational experience.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. As always, we look forward to receiving your thoughts and opinions on this or any other F. A. Davis product. If you or your students have questions about the patch, please contact technical support at 1-888-FADAVIS.
