Interactive ExercisesChapter 13, Exercise 01: Describe the System
Two community hospitals located 6 miles apart are merging. Medical, surgical, and specialty services are being divided between the two agencies according to the resources available in each environment. Reorganization of a hospital has been mandated. As the nurse-manager of a specialty unit, you must prepare your staff members for expansion of their telemetry unit from 24 to 32 beds and plan for the entry of eight additional professional and ancillary staff members from the other agency, whose telemetry unit is being closed. Using concepts of organizational change and systems theory, describe the system with the inputs, throughput, outputs, and feedback as outlined below.
